You won't miss the feeding log, it has a large upright curve to it on the left hand side; look to the right and behind the log in the shallow brook and a few metres right of that as it seems to be the Rails territory. There is also a Moorhen in same area so look for a smaller bird than that and a red bill !!

Depending on what time I get there Alan, I would call in on the Eric Morecambe hide first thing in the morning then the main reserve and like Hazel, has said a lot of people like to go to Grisedale hide, Lower Hide is another hide to go first thing if you want to see the Otters or Marsh Harriers
