Would be great if more forumates could make it north to L. Moss.     Mike and I might be able to join if I can get good enough rates at our usual haunt !!  but will have to wait nearer the time to get the best deals.        Remember, they do a better breakfast than Dearne Valley  lol    (with mushrooms) !!!

Alan and I are booked into the Silverdale Hotel (pub) and Hazy always stays at Pine Lakes, which is self catering and just a short drive away. I'm sure she will provide more info once she reads this ☺

    Hi Gaynor, as Paul says, Mike and I normally stay at Pine Lakes, Nr. Carnforth which is just 10 mins drive from L.Moss reserve but it would be more difficult to get to without a car (or without another forumate staying at same place ! )  as it would be bus to Carnforth which is about mile and half away and then a train (one stop) to Silverdale ..... or another bus.     P.Lakes has wooden chalet type accommodation either "studio" which has King bed, kitchenette (with hob but no oven) bath/shower over  or a 2 bed chalet which has full kitchen facilities,  can sleep up to 6 people (2 rooms, 1 King bed,  1 twin beds)  and both accommodations are spotlessly clean, comfortable and come with linens.      Prices are high during school holidays and I often wait until at least two months nearer the time as prices tend to drop if there are still vacancies.   There are other accommodations within driving distance to the reserve and also Lancaster which is connected by train to Silverdale.     I always keep my eye on the rates being regular attenders at Leighton Moss and will let you know if I see anything reasonable that comes up Gaynor.    

We are going to Northumbria for a week (Seahouses, Farne Isles) on June 1st but will be back in time for the dates Paul and Alan have arranged, all depends on accommodation and timings !

I will try my best to get up I am away to Seahouses on the 2nd June for two weeks so will only have five days to get ready for LM so will have to wait till nearer the date before I can definitely say yes.

Thanks very much MC and Hazy, I have just been looking up the area and it all looks very nice and would be happy if you can get any reasonable prices later on Hazy, I would be travelling up on the train so could be difficult.  Maybe a B&B would be better, I'll keep looking.

LM is only 10 miles from Lancaster so not far away, there are a lot of B&Bs in the area because I was looking just in case were I stay is full I will look nearer the date to get prices, and LM is only 989ft from Silverdale Station.
