Three otters were seen today at the Public hide at 9.40 am, on top of the two seen here and the group of three at the Lower hide yesterday.

A Cetti's warbler was seen and heard at the top of the Causeway and near the Public hide both today and yesterday too. In the drier sunnier spells over the last few days there have been some good sightings of bearded tits around the grit trays. There was also a sighting of a bittern flight on Saturday.

Our female marsh harrier 'hanger on' is still about with good views had over the weekend, and six goldeneye were displaying well at the Lower hide this afternoon.

At the Allen hide a green sandpiper was about all weekend as well as up to 30 little egrets.

The red deer rut is still going on - there are some bizzare grumblings drifting out of the reedbed and some impressive antlers on show at the Griesdale and Tim Jackson hides!
