The fabulous great white egret has been putting in regular appearances at Griesdale hide. It tends to roost with the little egrets at Island Mere (tree in the middle of the Public/Lower hide pools), so if you are around at dusk, watch for them coming in. They look like hankies in the trees when they are all perching!
Our bearded tit season is well underway with these little lovelies showing up daily on the grit trays. If you are here in the morning, get yourself down the causeway to see them, or look out for them on the big screen in the cafe whilst enjoying a delicious cake and hot chocolate!
The roaring of the red deer stags can still be heard early morning and evening. Keep an eye out for them down at Tim Jackson and Griesdale hides through the day.
With the water levels still quite high, the otters are enjoying the ease with which they can move round the reserve, so keep your eyes peeled for them throughout the reedbed.
The paths are now very passable, but still have puddles in places, so you'll need waterproof footwear.
