Made our first ever visit to lakenheath on Saturday, lovely day at a great reserve. Saw a wide variety of species during our visit including bearded tits at mere hide, reed bunting at visitors centre, cormorant on the post at new fen, a male kestrel hunting over the Ouse and Great egret on river bank
I wanted to add a few more photos I took but couldn't see how

Thanks Alan
Well done Brian love the Bearded Tit
Great photos Brian, I read that there were only 600 breeding pairs in the UK (perhaps RSPB Team can confirm). Most of them seem to be at Lakenheath Fen.

I was refering to the Bearded tits.
There are plenty at minsmere also
Hello Brian,
Thank you very much for your post. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit and thanks for the photographs.
In terms of bearded tits, there are now around 1000 breeding in Britain and we have between 50-100 pairs here at RSPB Lakenheath Fen.
We hope to see you on the reserve again soon.
Regards,
David White, Visitor Experience Officer
