The RSPB is running 4 special events to witness one of Britain's best natural phenomenons. As many of you know, it can be quite difficult to track down the starling roost due to their unpredictable nature but these events can take that unpredictability away and guarantee the spectacle. Obviously, once you know where the roost is in the evening, it's easy to come back and see the show the next day.
The events will run on: 15th & 29th January and 12th & 19th February. An RSPB staff member will meet you in the Ham Wall/Shapwick Heath Car Park at 7am and lead you to the roost. Then afterwards enjoy breakfast and hot drinks at Meare Manor (own transport required). The cost is £6 per person and BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Call Meare Manor on: (01458) 860449.
The RSPB can also co-ordinate special Dawn Explosion Visits for groups of 8 or more without refreshments at a cost of £3 per person. To book these call Jennifer Clark on: 07739 190657.
