We know that for many of you, Ham Wall reserve provides enjoyment and solace in the natural world throughout these challenging times. In line with Government guidance on essential, daily exercise outdoors, during #SecondLockdown, our car park, trails and toilets remain open for you to visit. Please follow all current Government guidance around social distancing, who you can visit with, hygiene and follow all signage on-site. We urge you to also follow Government guidance on non-essential travel and please stay local to your nearest reserves and greenspaces.

Our hides will be closed from Thursday 5 November for the duration of this lockdown. We are also not running events. However, we'll provide an outdoor Covid-secure welcome point when staffing allows, where our friendly team will be on-hand to answer questions. We are also offering a delicious selection of take-away drinks and snacks, available from our welcome point on weekends and during the week when staffing allows. Card payments only.

Due to Covid-19, we are unfortunately asking visitors to find an alternative local starling roost to visit in the evenings where possible due to government advice on maximum gathering sizes and social distancing. For the safety of everyone, please visit starlingsintheuk.co.uk to find your nearest alternative roost site. If you’re thinking of visiting the Avalon Marshes for starlings this year and it is your local site, please plan your visit carefully and read our latest guidelines here before arriving : http://bit.ly/starlingsandcovid19

Greylake and Swell Wood reserves car parks and trails will also remain open for essential daily exercise in line with government guidance; the hides at both reserves will be closed for the duration of the lockdown.
