Nursery Meadows:
1 male Hawfinch in trees at the crossroads in the centre of the meadows
6+ Common Crossbills in pines around the edge of the meadows
Long Trail:
1 adult Goshawk
5 Fallow Deer
2 Foxes

Short Trail:
1 singing male Hawfinch
2 drumming Great Spotted Woodpeckers
2 Bullfinches at the pond
1 Grey Heron waiting for frogs to arrive at the pond (always a good indicator of spring when the heron shows up there!)

Lower Hide:
1 Kingfisher showing very well

1 male Sparrowhawk
25 Common Crossbills over N

The Heath (Long Trail):
7 Fallow Deer

3 Common Crossbills feeding in larches at the bottom of the meadows
Lots of Frogs spawning in the Nursery Pond
1 Hawfinch in the Lower Hide area
1 basking Adder (first of the year)

1 singing Firecrest (first of the year)
2 Hawfinches
2 Ravens overhead
4+ Crossbills around the heath
2 Bramblings in beech woodland by the quarry
A pair of Crossbills came to drink from the pond
Many spawning Common Toads in the overflow section of the pond

Yes, we had an event on Saturday. Members of the public and Girl Guides were helping us clear brash from the newly coppiced area next to the car park.

15 Redwings feeding on the meadows

Russell's Inclosure (east side of reserve):
1 singing Chiffchaff

Singing Chiffchaffs are now well spread across the reserves

c15 Redwings feeding in Ivy, some in song
The heath (Long Trail):
A pair of Crossbills in pines around the heath
1 Slow Worm basking at the side of the path
1 Green Tiger Beetle on the path (first of the year)
1 singing Blackcap (first of the year)

Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps well represented across the reserve now.
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker drumming over a wide area at Farmers Green
