Hello,

 

it has been a bit of a foggy day today at RSPB Frampton Marsh, but there have been lots of wonderful winter birds on site. We have been joined today by the Cambridge U3A group, who have had a very enjoyable day, experiencing the stunning wildlife that the reserve has to offer.

Sightings have included -

Whooper swan 44

Brent goose 700+

European white-fronted goose 10

Wigeon 680+

Teal 300+

Shoveler 35

Gadwall19

Pintail 6

Goldeneye 2

Little egret 16 with another 41 dropping on to the salt marsh first thing

Great white egret 1

Snipe 15

Golden plover 180+

Spotted redshank 2

Greenshank 1

Sparrowhawk 1

Marsh harrier 1

Barn owl 1

 

The weather for the weekend -

Saturday could start with some light drizzle, but should be fine by dawn. The day will remain cloudy with max temps of 14C. The wind is predicted to come from the south at 5mph.

Sunday looks much the same, but with stronger winds of 12mph coming from the south east.
