Howdy folks! Chris back once again with a fresh look of what has been happening on the reserve over the past week.
Right, before we get onto the sightings themselves. First of all a plea. If you are going to visit the reserve over the next couple of weeks and driving down to the bottom car park, please please PLEASE slow down. There are avocets taking their chicks across the road, we don't want an accident.
Also, if you meet a car coming the other way, back up! Find one of the passing places. The chicks hide in the grass on the verges and if you go onto there, you may well squash them. And I'm sure you don't want to squash one of these...
Right, that plea made, onto the sightings...
Female garganey was by the main car park, drake down the other end of the reserve. Think they've had an argument?
Sorry, nothing for Thursday as I was a bit lax. But it was basically the same as Wednesday...
And Tuesday...
Bank holiday Monday had some lovely close views of tree sparrows feeding youngsters at the centre feeders
Sunday had a great view of brown hare, right outside the main centre windows
And last but not least, Saturday!
So there you go. Looks like nice weather this weekend, come and see what you can find!
Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
