Howdy folks! And welcome to the Frampton marsh recent sightings. With me, Chris the visitor guy.
Right, no messing about this week. Lets get right on it.
The marsh sandpiper is pretty much confirmed now (though we are still waiting for it to be officially accepted). That would make the number of waders seen on the reserves since April to be 33. Tied with last year. And no red-necked phalarope or woodcock yet. Can you find us one?
Plus a pectoral sandpiper on the reedbed
Yes, quick and dirty this week I'm afraid as I'm not feeling great and just want to get home. But aside from some rain late on Saturday afternoon, the weekend looks like it might be good. Varying amounts of easterly winds may well bring in some migrants. Tides are reasonably sized and timed, around 7. And with sunset at just before 7, there could be a decent high tide roost either at Frampton or at Freiston.
So, that's your lot for today. Have a good week of birding, take care and I'll catch you next time!
Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
