It’s that time of year again and we’re less than a month away from the Big Wild Sleepout! For those not in the know it’s an annual event where we have walks and activities and have the unique experience of camping out on the reserve, not to mention an insight into what goes on when the sun goes down and the night comes to life!
After the visitor centre closes at five o’clock we’ll be going for a walk in the evening to see what we can find, we may even find some of the four species of bats that visit the reserve! We will also be making dream catchers to ensure we only get sweet dreams, and toast marshmallows on the fire. After all that and more we’ll go to sleep under the stars in our beautiful nature reserve. What could be better!
The night before we will also set a moth trap, so in the morning we can open it up and see what we’ve found, there are some fantastic animals that only come out at night! It’s a fantastic event and a great opportunity to spend a night in natures home and get connected with nature. We had a fantastic time last year and this year is going to be even better!
