Hi Andy,
Thank you for the speedy reply and the encouragement. I didn't realise the starlings left Fen Drayton so early - in fact I w in Somerset last week and saw a pretty impressive murmur action over the Avalon marshes.
There seem to be many other sights at Fen Drayton so I will definitely visit soon.

Goosander duck and drake on NW quadrant of Drayton Lagoon at 1500 today.

Drake Scaup on Ferry Lagoon. Take care, as there's also a hybrid duck on the same lake that also looks like a Scaup but has the wrong head shape & colour and is too small.
Slavonian grebe & adult yellow-legged gull also on Ferry Lagoon.
Also a white nun & two weasel coots on Far Fen Lake (see Alison's post to find out what species this is).
In total, I saw 61 species on the reserve today.
It would appear the scaup & the hybrid are one & the same bird! My mistake!
