Good morning,
This weekend I stayed in Canterbury with some friends. Ive never been there before and its a nice little town. We decided to go to the Hythe and Dungeness minature railway but on the way I spotted the RSPB Dungeness reserve, but my friends weren't that interested :( Shock! On the minature railway we went behind the houses on the coastal route and glad to see plenty of feeding stations for the birds. I always try to spot to see which gardens have feeding stations in, and glad to say there's a lot.
So if anyone on hear is local to Dungeness, I will be going back in the year catch up what I missed.
Cheers, Jason
Sorry, is Canterbury a city as it has a cathedral? oops...
Dunge is ace, I go there often. I've never been on the little railway though so you have one over on me there :) Here are some of my Dunge-based blog posts:

Is that the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway? I remember going on it as a kid but I've never been back.
Shame on your friends for not allowing you to go into into RSPB Dungeness. LOL It's somewhere I've never been to either, so shame on me too.

Cheers Aike, after what you posted I shall definitely go back to have a visit.
TeeJay, that is the railway, its a nice little place but when I was there the line only went from Dungeness to Hythe, but as you know it carries on to (and the name escapes me)
The railway starts at Dungeness and finishes at Hythe - New Romney and Dymchurch are a couple of the intermediate stations.
Aye Dymchurch, thats the one!
Hi-
if you stay at the observatory you can take the train to get your food shopping ( well we poor guys did in the 1970's)

Cheers S, I take it there's more to do at Dymchurch rather than Dungeness! Train ride is fun on the minature scale!
Train is expensive now though! £9.50 return from Dunge to Dymchurch. Would be cheaper to have lunch at the Pilot Inn every day - and the meals are so huge that you could forgo breakfast and dinner :)
I did notice the price of the tickets and I did see the Pilot inn, but didnt go in. When I was there at the weekend it was very quite, but sure its different in spring/summer
