Groan! Sorry but I couldn’t resist the terrible pun! If you are wandering past the dipping pond at RSPB Dungeness nature reserve in the next few weeks do take a look at the full-size representation of a Northern Right Whale created by the Marsh Harrier group of Wildlife explorers. Using a mixture of real whale bones, wood and pebbles, the children formed a full-size whale skeleton. For those of you wondering how big that is... 18 metres in length! Although the ribs had to be brought back to the Visitor centre to protect them against the weather, the rest of the creation will still be there until the wind and rain destroy the masterpiece.
