The big excitement  of the last two days has been two white-winged black terns over Burrowes pit viewable from Dennis's hide and the comfort of the visitor centre.

Garganey – on Burrowes pit on 9th.

 

Bittern – at Denge Marsh on 14th.

Great white egret – one at ARC 14th.

Purple heron – Denge Marsh on 13th.

 

Buzzard – over ARC on 8th.

Hobby – seven at ARC, Burrowes pit and Denge Marsh on 15th.

Peregrine – Denge Marsh 15th.

  

Whimbrel – by access track on 11th.

Ringed plover – on Burrowes pit on 15th.

Grey plover - on Burrowes pit and in hay fields on 15th.

Black-tailed godwit – 52 on Burrowes Pit 13th.

Dunlin – six in hay fields on 15th.

Turnstone – two on Burrowes pit on 15th.

Knot – one on Burrowes pit on 15th.

Redshank – one at hay fields on 14th.

 

Common tern – over Denge Marsh on 15th.

Black tern – one on Burrowes pit on 10th.

Arctic tern – one at Burrowes pit on 10th.

White winged black tern – two over Burrowes pit on 15th.

Mediterranean gull – on Burrowes pit on 15th.

 

Cuckoo – at Denge Marsh and ARC on 15th.

 

Swallow – over reserve on 15th.

Swift – over Burrowes pit and new diggings on 15th.

  

Wheatear – alongside main access track on 9th.

Tree sparrow – on car park feeders on 15th.

Lesser whitethroat – at Christmas dell on 12th.

Spotted flycatcher – at Denge Marsh on 12th.

Golden oriole – ARC water tower pits on 13th.

 

Raven – at Denge marsh on 12th.
