The highlight this week has been a glossy ibis hanging around in the hayfields. Hobbies have also been showing well during the week. A great crested grebe is nesting in front of the visitor centre alongside a coots nest. Today a pair of shelduck were on Burrowes pit with five youngsters – very cute fluffy versions of the adults.

Garganey – two drake at ARC on 7th.
Bittern – one at Denge Marsh on 13th.
Glossy ibis – one on Hayfield 3 on 12th.
Hobby – over Hookers pits on 13th.
Peregrine – one at Denge Marsh on 11th.
Avocet – six on Burrowes pit on 9th.
Black-tailed godwit – one at Denge Marsh on 10th.
Cuckoo – three at Hookers pits on 13th.
Lesser Whitethroat – on the Return Trail and Christmas Dell on 11th.
