Beardies and Booming

Old Moor gave me a very special day yesterday. Sitting at the reedbed screen listening to frequent booming from  a nearby bittern was great. I managed to block out the road noise and loud gullage conversation. Then just as I had said to Paul the volunteer that I was getting withdrawal symptoms for kingfishers, a beautiful one flew in and perched very briefly on the branch right n front of the screen. Too quick for a photo but promise of things to come I hope.

A couple of greylag had a scuffle and I managed to catch a nose dive.

Then after 4 hours of waiting a stunning beardie popped up  to say hello. What a wonderful day :-)
