Firecrest (Pete Wood)

Pete Wood's photo of one of our firecrests is our favourite photo submitted in December; will yours be one of our favourites in 2012?

We’d like to make the most of the amazing photos that visitors take at RSPB Conwy, so each month we choose our favourites to feature in our e-news, social media, on display around the reserve or in the reserve’s monthly Warblings column in the North Wales Weekly News.  Your picture could win you a prize in a public vote at the end of the year.

Your photos could be scenery, people, birds, insects, flowers, close-ups - whatever you like, so long as it is taken on the reserve.  Whether you’ve got a point-and-shoot camera or the latest DSLR, we’d love to see your pictures.

Here are the rules for Photostream 2012

  1. Photographs must be taken at RSPB Conwy nature reserve to be eligible for entry.
  2. To be considered, photographs should be uploaded to either www.flickr.com/groups/rspb_conwy or www.rspb.org.uk/conwy.  Both require registration, and you must abide by the terms and conditions of each website.

You can show your photographs by uploading them to Flickr and then pulling them into the RSPB website.
  3. Copyright of photographs remains with the photographer.  By uploading your photos, you allow the RSPB to use images to help promote Conwy reserve and the RSPB’s work.
  4. Photographs taken by RSPB Conwy staff are not eligible for inclusion in Photostream 2012.
  5. Each month, photographs uploaded to the websites during the previous calendar month will be reviewed and the favourites highlighted on the websites and through various media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook).

Towards the end of 2012, a gallery of the favourites will be displayed at the RSPB reserve, and visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite.  The winner will be announced by the end of January 2013.
