...especially if you're a small bird, so keep those feeders topped up and if you have some leftover fruit, the thrushes will thank you.  Our birds are certainly thanking us for the fruit provided by Tatws Trading and the local branch of Tesco as it's about the only grub not under a blanket of snow.

Unfortunately the white stuff means we're closed today, which is a real shame because the place looks stunning.  Volunteers and staff weren't able to get to the reserve today, hence the lack of shop and coffee shop, but we're really hoping to be open from 11 am to 4 pm tomorrow.  Remember, you can keep bang up to date with our news, including changes in opening times, by following us on Twitter (welcome to our 500th follower who joined this week) or by becoming our friend on Facebook - just search for RSPB Conwy and send a Friend Request.

A quick bit of bird news from the last few days.  A bittern has been seen occasionally since the middle of the week - we hope it'll stick around, though the freezing conditions will do it no favours.  A pintail was reported yesterday and our first kingfisher sighting for ages was from the coffee shop.  A firecrest was reported near the Bridge Pond on Tuesday (14th) and the starling roost had reached 45,000 before the snow came.  Very impressive!

There are still a few places left on Tuesday's Winter Solstice walk (for details and booking, click here) and details of our Christmas/New Year opening hours are listed on the events page.
