We're pleased to announce the water levels have now dropped enough for us to re-open the reserve.

Please note parts of the trail to Reedling/Marshland hide may have some persistently deep puddles requiring wellingtons/waterproof walking.

An alternative dry route is in operation to access Ousefleet Hide and all other trails are now dry.

Closed Until Further Notice.

A huge tide has flooded the reserve. This will mean we will be closed as from today for several days.

Just a quick update that although the reserve is open the paths are shallow flooded and Wellington boots are essential. 

Also please note that with the lagoons now deeply flooded the variety of birds will be until we adjust the water levels reduced a bit, so if you do visit don't expect too much in terms of waders. This may be up until a week and a half as hundreds of thousands of gallons of water take quite a lot of time…

Great news! After some of the worst flooding since 2013 the reserve is open again. Wellington boots are essential for access to Reedling and Marshland hides but access is dry to Ousefleet, First Hide, Townend Hide and Singleton Hides. A massive thanks to the warden team for the hard work repairing pathways to make sure everyone can get around the reserve safely!

A massive tide tonight with water going into reception, and with possibly two more higher tides this week we are definitely going to be closed until next week and then possibly a lot of repairs to do.

Flood Update:- We're please to announce that we will re-open tomorrow Tuesday 19th March after recent tidal floods. Please be aware that wellington boots will be required to access Reedling and Marshland hides. All other hides can be accessed with normal sturdy footwear. An alternative route will be available to ousefleet hide. Please adhere to onsite signage.

Sorry the reserve is currently closed due to tidal flooding.
