Our two spoonbills are still here and are often seen preening and sleeping on singleton lagoon.  Then visiting townend lagoon to feed offering excellent views of them sweeping those bills through the water - often they go round in circles after what they are after.

Waders continue to favour marshland though some are now using townend and especially the screen up at Ousefleet.  We now have 4 spotted redshank in full summer plumage - one was at the screen at Ousefleet and the rest were on marshland.  Todays waders (combination changes daily) - Greenshank, dunlin, black-tailed godwit, lapwing, avocet, snipe, redshank and a little ringed plover.

Marsh harriers are busy throughout the reserve feeding those young.  Keep an eye out for that female that seems to like black-headed gull chicks - she is now regularly visiting the colony on xerox.

Also watch out for little egret, yellow wagtail and those warblers.
