You could probably forgive us for being a bit media luvvy the next time you come up to the reserve.

With all theTV film crews we’ve welcomed in 2011, we’ve definitely learned not to be camera-shy. And tomorrow Bempton Cliffs will be on the small screen yet again.

This year, the reserve has been seen on top TV shows such as BBC’s Countryfile, which featured several places in East Yorkshire in April. Presenter Matt Baker met our community outreach officer, Steve Race, who introduced him to the nesting gannets and showed him breath-taking images beamed back to the visitor centre by the newly-installed CCTV cameras out on the cliffs.

The reserve provided the backdrop to ITV’s Countrywise end-of-series programme in July and also welcomed a crew from the BBC News Channel, who filmed the RSPB’s director of conservation, Martin Harper, for the On the Road with... series, with presenter Matt Stadlen.

And tomorrow, it will be the kids who get to watch, when CBBC’s hugely-popular Live 'n' Deadly roadshow, presented by Steve Backshall and Naomi Wilkinson, features the reserve. There will be an interview with Johnny Phillips, the reserve’s visitor information assistant, who reveals some of the antics of the now-famous gannets.

Live 'n' Deadly will be broadcast between 9am and 10 am, so grab yourself a cuppa and sit back and watch. It might not exactly be your normal Saturday morning viewing, but give it a go.

It’s brilliant that we are able to show millions of people throughout the country what a great place this is – and to fly the flag for Yorkshire and all it has to offer.
