Patience.  That's the one thing all good wildlife photographers need.  And it's possibly the one thing that can't be taught.    Every other skill though can be learnt and perfected with practice.

A great starting point for those who want to improve their skills would be one of our photography 'taster' workshops.   Working together with Yorkshire Coast Nature's photographer, Steve Race, these informative and practical sessions are designed specifically for those who want to capture on film the wonders of nature.

Under Steve's watchful eye, those taking part will be able to hone their skills, improve their field craft and possibly try out techniques used by professional photographers.  With the stunning backdrop of Bempton Cliffs and over 200,000 willing seabird subjects, the results promise to be impressive.

Steve is keen to pass on the benefit of his experience to enthusiatic amateurs.  'RSPB Bempton Cliffs is the ideal location for photographers.  Everywhere you look there's something amazing to turn into a fantastic image - a fulmar gliding by, a kittiwake diving into the sea or if you're lucky, a hare dashing across a field.   The workshops will give me the opportunity to deliver real insights and advice on how to turn these incredible sights into brilliant photographs.'

The workshops are running on Mondays and Friday mornings throughtout May and June, so if you're in the area, grab your camera and join us.  But please book in advance on 01262 850959.   The cost is £10 and the groups are limited to10 people so that everyone gets some one-to-one time.   If you've got a SLR digitial camera and you want to take better photographs , this will definitely be two hours well spent.
