Young Emily Warkup from Skipsea picked a blustery day to raise money for Rockhopper penguins.

Emily was fascinated by an article in her Wildlife Explorer club magazine about the drop in the number of Rockhopper Penguins and decided to step up to help.

So she put her best foot forward and walked around 5.5 miles between the Flamborough headland and the reserve with the aim of raising funds to help the RSPB investigate the decline.

Emily’s sterling efforts raised a fabulous £25 which will go towards increasing our understanding of the issues facing these incredible birds.

Emily had to face her own challenges on hercliff top journey, ‘It was a bit windy – Daddy had to stop me being blown away’.

More information on the plight of the penguins can be found here: http://www.rspb.org.uk/youth/join_in/rockhopperappeal/index.aspx
