Before Sir Cliff bounced his way through his classic hit, Congratulations, at the Jubilee Concert, RSPB Bempton Cliffs marked her Majesty’s 60 years as Queen in equally impressive style – fortunately, without the singing.

The sun shone and the bunting fluttered as the Jubilee Day ‘do’ got underway.    Special Puffin Patrols kicked things off while the gannets, not to be out done, hovered at eye level on the cliff edge like a guard of honour.

In the marquee, cakes galore were served up and the craft tent offered wannabee royals the chance to make their own crown.   Everyone was in high spirits and at 3pm the official unveiling of the ‘Jubilee Corner’ viewpoint saw princess-for-the-day,  7 year old Ruby Greenwood, draw back the red curtain to reveal the new name plaque.

A jolly good time was had by all.  If only HRH hadn’t been otherwise engaged…
