The last week or so has seen almost relentless movements of in coming thrushes and especially over the last few days, when there seem to be Blackbirds absolutely everywhere. Small groups of Fieldfares are 'chacking' their way over head and Skylarks and Meadow Pipits are still on the move, so yet again a top place to watch migration in action.

Further excitement has been added by the brief presence of a Waxwing on Monday morning, which alas didn't stay around to be enjoyed and a few Short-eared Owls, along with, better, still a Long-eared Owl, although again its appearance was sadly all too brief. Woodcock, too, have arrived so keep your eyes peeled as they can be hiding almost anywhere and suddenly burst up from in front of you and dive into the next piece of cover.

The ever noisy Tree Sparrows are attracting plenty of migrating Chaffinches and Greenfinches to stop and rest a while, and Bramblings are always a possibility at the feeding station, so definitely worth a look.

Last week there were one or two Snow Buntings on the coast path and most amazingly of all, a very late Osprey heading south overhead - so anything is possible, anywhere, anytime!
