Fancy helping us hit our target of making 900 apple bird feeders to mark Bridlington Priory's 900th anniversary?

We could certainly do with a helping hand...or two .

If you'd like to add to the total, why not make one at home then let us know you've done your bit on our Facebook page.

Instructions are available on the internet but here's how we made ours.

You will need:

An apple, an apple corer, a twig (approx 10"/25cm), a length of string (approx 20"/50 cm), a handful of sunflower seeds.

1. Remove the apple core with the corer.  Keep the core to use later.

2. Push sunflower seeds into the apple skin to make it even more nutritious.

3. Fold the string in half and tie the ends together. Loop this around the twig and thread the string up through the apple's centre so that the apple 'sits' on the twig.

4. Push the core back into the apple while keep keeping the string taut.

That's it.    All you need to do now is give it a go.  And thanks for your help.
