It is with great sadness that we note the recent death of Stephen Owen who worked as warden at Baron’s Haugh and Airds Moss reserves. He was hugely popular with both staff and volunteers and indeed to the regular members of the public who had the good fortune to meet him in his daily work.

He was both extremely hard working and conscientious and his contribution to the improvement of the two reserves where he worked as warden was immense.  Both reserves are very much the better for his considerable efforts and he was a credit to himself and his family. He will be missed by all who worked with him here at the RSPB.

Stephen’s funeral will take place at 12:00 on Friday 5 May at: Linn Crematorium Lainshaw Drive, Glasgow G45 9SP.
