Visited Aylesbeare yesterday to search for Dartford Warbler. I parked up and entered the reserve where I picked up one of the two fire damaged reserve leaflets. I started off round the reserve trying to use the map but there are so many paths and no marked wayposts, which left one rather confused. Obviously i didn't get lost but I'm pretty sure i left the "guided walk" several times.
Sadly unable to find a Dartford Warbler though did find some Stonechat. I did watch one pair for quite a while in the hope that a Dartford may be following them about, but no such luck.
