Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Well Dad didn't have much of a clue just then - brought in something fairly big and tried to shove it at them but as not much response dropped it and flew off! Don't think they are that hungry after the big meal Mum has not long fed them!
Think it was some kind of bird and quite big, yellow legs and feet, probably a bit bigger than the chicks. Sorry, not much help :-( I'm going now!

Hi everyone:-)
Wendy thanks for the lovely pics: MrsAK looks as though she's sitting on a pile of marchmallows:-)) Aw.....also I have my fingers crossed for you, won't be long before you hear the scratching of little talons lol
At around 12.07 Mrs had a really good preen. I love to see them preening and the way they pull and smooth their feathers. Little clip to follow.
Here is the clip. Mrs AK is doing her back when I see her, and moves on to the wing, really stretching it out and showing off the feathers...
12.42 The male has just turned up (missed snapping him as somewhere else) and now the chicks are alone. They have grown lol and so adorable.
The chicks preen while waiting. A few minutes later Mrs AK flies in and immediately snuggles them under her. Apologies for the change in size of the clip - I had to set the size to Loch Garten half way through as I heard the female osprey calling and thought there may be a fish on its way. (False alarm lol). Clip to follow.
Here is the clip of when Mrs AK returns and quickly snuggles them in
Again I missed the entrance of the bird - presumeably Mr AK dropped dinner off. The chicks are now being fed, clip to follow.
The chick at the back is stuffing it in lol but the others are also getting some.
