Seen from the hide at about 5.00 - 6.00 p.m.:
Mating Redshanks
Kestrel "pounced from overhead and landed on a slow worm (I think) in longish grass directly in front of the hide. It flew off after a while, presumably to feed chicks.
Yaffles much to the fore, with their undulating flight.
I loved the "grove" of Foxgloves on the way back to the car park.
sounds like a great evening - It is always worth a stroll latter in the day you never know what will turn up. There are a lot of redshanks about at the momment! Sounds like yet another slow worm has bitten the dust thanks to our kestrel family!
