Every year, Hope Farm hosts the barbeque for our Conservation Science team, and this year all of the food was sourced from wildlife-friendly farmers, right down to the cooking oil!

We had organic pork from our 2011 Welsh Nature of Farming Award winner, Gethin Owen, beef from LEAF Demonstration Farmer and champion for wading birds, Alastair MacLennan, salad from Steves Leaves, a Conservation Grade supplier where 10% of the land is managed for wildlife and vegetables from Nicholas Watts, a FWAG Silver Lapwing winner and host of RSPB research into measures to help yellow wagtails. Cheese and wine came from the Sharpham Estate, who look after cirl buntings in Devon. Even the cooking oil was from Duncan Farrington, a LEAF Demonstration Farmer who has had a Volunteer & Farmer Alliance survey and RSPB advice to support the wildlife on his Northamptonshire farm.

As well as organising fantastic research into management solutions for farmland birds, Tony Morris is also a fantastic cook – check out the attached menu and further details of our suppliers.
