Yesterday afternoon I was going into the Palace of Westminster and two peregrines were flying around the Victoria Tower. I stood and watched them in delight.
And then I saw a bird perched on the roof of Westminster Hall - quite an unusual sight. As I looked I realised it was another peregrine, I guess it was a young bird, which was plucking a pigeon.
Thousands of people walked past close to that peregrine falcon and gave it no heed at all - it didn't seem at all bothered by us either. I pointed it out to the policeman who checked my credentials and he seemed really pleased to have seen it.
What about a camera on a nest and "A Date with Nature"in The House of Commons for MPs!!!!. It might lift improve the general ambience!!!

There have been peregrines at Parliament for a few years now, but it is the first time that there are juveniles. More of them, more noise, more likely to be noticed :)
They were featured on the RSPB webcam this spring, the one mentioned regularly by Tim Webb on his London blog (www.rspb.org.uk/.../default.aspx)
For their history, visit the Parliament Peregrines Diary at londonperegrines.com/.../index.php
Next time you pass by Parliament, have a look up and you might just notice a peregrine or more perched on the various sculptures/gargoyles...
In another life some many years I used to buy large IBM mainframe computers from the USA
My colleagues in the States - had an office - in a massive sky scraper
On the very top he had nesting EAGLES !! He fitted up a CCTV camera and put the whole thing on the internet with the TV shots on his homepage. We always asked after the health of "BALDY"
