The RSPB welcomes Caroline Spelman to Defra, as the new Secretary of State, and looks forward to working with her.

Here is a link to the full text of the Conservative/Liberal Democrat deal.  Lots on climate change - which is very good.  Nothing on farming, and little on nature, but we don't believe that means that these issues will be seen as unimportant for the new government.  There's a lot of waiting and seeing to be done.  But also a lot of lobbying too!  Nature doesn't have a voice - we need to be a voice for nature!

  • Obviously Caroline has a lot to offer in terms of ability  and knowledge but oh dear Nannygate and dodgy expenses claim.Caroline surely the respect you could get from ordinary people like me ought to outweigh the money gained. After all you are relatively well off. What a shame.
