Are you a book worm or just fancy getting you, your kids or grandchildren out from in front of the TV or their way to fancy looking computer console (I am of the ZX Spectrum era)?

Well as it is WORLD BOOK DAY now is a perfect opportunity. What better way than finding your local bookshop (mine is The Book Hive in Norwich) and hunting down the lesser spotted "Wild things to do with Woodlice" book. With 365 fun activities and tips, the book helps kids learn all about how fantastic nature is and shows them how they can explore it for themselves.

Cathy Schofield, World Book Day spokesperson commented: "Wild things to do with Woodlice is a great book for children and we just had to recommend it. It encompasses all the elements we encourage - reading, learning and doing. It's a colourful and fun book that will capture the interest and imagination of children everywhere and hopefully get them reading more in the future."

So go on let us bring the natural world to the fingertips of the next generation. My little chief is too young for this so a great excuse for me to get the natural world under my finger nails and do it myself just like I used to do as a kid from the space invaders era.
