Rivers lace together our landscapes and have the power to inspire and enrich our lives. But all is not well – many are the threats and challenges they face, from low water flows to the assault of invasive non-native species. The RSPB is part of Our Rivers which brings together a range of watery interests including conservationists and anglers – with the aim of securing a better future for rivers.
And you can help – by telling us the stories that make up your favourite river. The pictures we paint of the many ways in which rivers matter to us will help to press home the need to get protection right. Later this year the Government will be publishing a Water White Paper which will be an important opportunity to make the case for our rivers.
