The planning system isn’t perfect ... but it has provided a measure of effective protection for our natural environment. In England, the current uproar around the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) is just a taster of the significance the planning system to those that hold the countryside dear.

It’s an exciting time to get involved, we certainly aren’t going to be short of challenges!  A real opportunity to step up for nature.

  • That campaign page is still pushing the line that "economic growth is essential", but, er... why? I'm sure you guys must have read Tim Jackson's book - it's rather persuasive - and utterly refutes that ingrained assumption. The RSPB seems to be hedging its bets a bit.
