How to deter squirrel feeding the bounty for the birds?

I've found that sprinkling Paprika on the feeders does the trick. I did a few years ago and I've not had a squirrel visit since....cheaper than buying new squirrel-proof feeders...

Welcome to the community from Saddleworth! Glad you're getting the LTT's! I think we all have visits from squirrels! Some people learn to like them but they can be a nuisance sometimes

A tip for squirrels which my sister has found works is to give the squirrels a feeder of their own and keep it topped up.
The wooden kind with a flip top lid is what she uses.
Since she started using one she has had no problems.
If the food is easily available to them they don't bother with the bird feeders!
It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
