Heard a Cuckoo yesterday! (lst May) I was spellbound listening to it. Is this very early for them?

Hi - early May is about the right time to start hearing their call - I haven't heard one yet though but it makes your day when you do.

Also heard my first cuckoo yesterday. This is the second shot I managed to get (posted the other one yesterday). A lovely sound to hear echo through the woods - brings back many memories of childhood when they were much more common.

....and it has!...
..came out of the front door this morning at 9.30am and heard one just down the road. Especially good as I missed hearing one last year.
