  • It has been a beautiful day here, really warm and with no wind. Loads of House Sparrows chirruping and I hope they are going to nest, posssibly in a little Kilmarnock Willow, or a honeysuckle hedge growing along a wall. Watched from the kitchen window a female Greenfinch gathering moss from a stone and then taking off low down to the hedge in the front garden

Did some garden things after our visitors left this morning but a neighbouring farmer is liming the field next to us and clouds of white dust floated over :(

And so we took Jess for a walk to Edzell village, a round trip of about 6 miles. She had a swim in the river Esk and we had a half pint at a local hostelry.

All in all a good a good day!

  • In reply to doggie:

Had a pair of coal tits showing interest in a nest box and stopped me going in the shed for a while. That would certainly be a first for me.

I drilled a hole above shed door and put a box inside the shed.
