Was an hour & a half in the garden hidden under camo netting, worth it?

Hi Folks

I sat in the corner of the garden under a Hebee bush in camoflage clothing and covered in camoflage netting to see what came in the garden, i'm quite pleased at a first attempt.

The sparrows keep an eye on the strange new bush across the garden (me) from their favourite hide out.

A confused Starling who wants to be a Sparrow joins the watch.

At last the birds trust the new bush.

I'm beginning to warm up at last, but it was fun, god knows what the neighbours thought.

  • A good selection there Shane. Some of those birds were looking a bit suspiciously at your camoflage though. :-)

    Best wishes

    Val.

    Hi Shane

At least it got you closer to the birds to take your photos. Well captured. :-)

I hope you've warmed up by now. :-)

I'm thinking about buying one of those camouflage portable hides, but I'm not sure where to get them from.

    Best wishes Chris

At least the photos were great! Can't remember the last time I saw a Collared Dove around here.

  • Brilliant Shane, I had thought of doing this in my garden but was worried the neighbours would call the old bill and get me banged up for being a peeping tom !!!!

But now you have done it, I just might give it a go......soon ;-)

    Brilliant stuff.

I have got to the point where the birds trust me when I am sat in the garden shed/hide with the door slid half open. It makes a huge difference to get much closer to the action doesn't it ..  not just on a photographic level, you kinda feel immersed in their world.
