Feeders

I have fumbling arthritic hands and find a lot of feeders very tricky to take apart and clean what with nuts, bolts, screws etc. I notice there are new ring pull seed feeders, has anyone tried them and are they easier? Also do they do them for nyjer seeds and peanuts?

  • I use them and I think they are excellent. Not the cheapest but I think well worth the money in the long run. You can get them for nyger seed as well as conventional seed/sunflower. It's a clever design. All you have to do is pull out a central rod and the whole thing comes apart. There are no fiddly bolts to undo.

You can get them from here but as they say other suppliers may be available

Thanks TeeJay that's really useful to know and it seems the feeders are cheaper at your link site than the RSPB site.

  • In reply to Kezsmum:

They usually supply two push on perches with each feeder. If you are thinking of buying these feeders I think it's worth getting extra perches as well. We don't want our feathered friends to get a crick in their neck do we. LOL
