How do I report this? Walking the dog in Cumbria at 11.15am. Sat down in Castlehead wood admiring the view across to Derwentwater. After 5 minutes I saw this large bird of prey flying down the valley. I was on a slight rise so it was at my head height flying North. White tail feathers pale grey/brown feathers a really large head and golden hooked beak. When I got home and looked it up only the White tailed Sea Eagle fits. I know they breed in Western Scotland and not in Cumbria,
Hi GandG
Latest bird news for Cumbria - Going birding Cumbria I think this is the link you'll want. Alternatively just google Cumbria bird sightings or something similar.
Fabulous bird to spot
The Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation should be interested and might even be able to verify your sighting.
