Two visitors to my garden today which brightened up this cold damp miserable day. The woodpecker disappeared seconds before the sparrowhawk decided to land on the sunflower seed feeder.

Hi Judi

I too had a visit from a Woodie and a Sprawk.
Your photos put mine to shame so may I share yours?
Thanks xxxx
Pip :))
Hi Judi,
Cheery indeed! Fab pictures, and I'm glad the woodpecker left just in time. The sparrowhawk looks very hungry!
Shane - absolutely nothing wrong with feeders swarming with sparrows - they are my treasure pots and the most entertaining of all garden birds.
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Sparrow
Your right about the sparrows, I have moved the feeders closer to the window and have a webcam looking out at them all the time. there are woodpigeons and ringed neck doves coming in but they are being mobbed by the sparrows lol. I have this running up in a seperate window while im on the computer in case the sparrow hawk eventually makes a visit and i see it.
Thats the sort of thing that makes a day feel so much better.
Great pics...
Robert

I needed something to brighten up my day - it's pouring with rain down here and so dark I've had to put the lights on. Well you've just done it. Great photos. Wow, that sparrowhawk looks fierce. Who was he eyeing up? Not you through the window I hope.
