8 days it's taken me to get these pics and then I had to get them through the kitchen window. There are 2 of them but I couldn't get them together.
I know just how you feel it took me 8 days to get a picture of the one visiting our garden and it wasn't as good as this Well done

Hi cuddicat
Great photos! we have a couple too that come in for the monkey nuts, they move so quickly that I have only a few photos so can appreciate the effort you took to get yours. Well done you!

Well done on your photos there! I gather Jays are notoriously difficult to photograph usually so a great deal of patience is required...although I'm sure enough of their favourite foods is enough to make them stay that little bit longer.
I can fully sympathise if they're anything like my Magpie to photograph - he's a nightmare!
Hi Cuddicat,
Yup! I'd swap you a few goldfinches for one of those. Must admit I've never seen a jay in real life.
Well done for the beautiful photos, and thanks for posting them.
Cheers, Linda.

If its no fun Yer no doin it right!

Thank you for your kind responses. That's made it well worth the wait for the photos. I'm studying the photos I have to see if I can tell if one is a male and the other female because I know I got photos of the 2 different birds on the table but they are not clear. If I can't figure it out I might post them here and see if the experts can tell me.
Have a great day :)
ps. does anyone else think the eye in the first picture looks oddly human , even down to the 'eyebrow'?
In reply to Cuddicat:
Post them anyway We would love to see them.
Hi Cuddicat
Jays are notoriously difficult to get photos of as they are very shy.
I have had one in my garden but the photos that I managed to get weren't very good. I think it was probably a youngster.
I'm hoping for a better one, one day....but I might have a long wait.
Best wishes Chris

I love your pictures Chris. The bottom one looks like it needs a caption :)
Here are the other pictures Al but I can't see any differences because the heads are not showing clearly.
I just noticed that one of them seems to have a lighter head colour so does this mean anything?
cheers
