Alternative to pond

    I've just picked up a couple of small hexagonal planters without drain holes (about 1 1/2ft across) and put in a dwarf water lily (from here www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/water-lilies) in each as well as a couple of other plants. If you add an oxygenator or 2 that should create reasonable water quality.

    Otherwise there are pre-formed small ponds available. Try these links

    My mini water features

    Only 3 plants per pot at the moment. I may put more in depending on how the dwarf lily spreads and what the water quality's like.
