The leylandii at the bottom of the garden have GONE. Well actually they haven't, they are all chopped up on the lawn but they have now been chopped down. It's amazing how much space is there! The "gardener" (i.e. the guy next doors son) came round yesterday because he had a week without work and knew we needed something done in the garden and so today he got to work! So, the leylandii hedge (looking at the stumps, I think trees would be a far more accurate description!) has now gone, the shed will also soon be gone because it is literally falling down and we'll have a nice fence up soon! And a new, smaller outdoor storage thing.
Not sure what we're doing with the bottom of the garden just yet because there are serveral options, as we're planning on getting another dog after Tai it may become an outdoor run with kennel for the new dog if new dog likes being outside on his/her own, if not it might get planted up. Plenty of potential options. We're planning on planting our rowan and whitebeam down there regardless, or maybe get them HUGE pots to go into down there. We'll see.

Hi KatTai,
From experience your lawn is probably completely covered as they never look that big until they're piled on your lawn!!
Sounds like you have a few options with the bottom of the garden, it will be interesting to see what you decide to do, hopefully you will keep us updated with your progress?
Higgy - that was pretty much it! Big pile of leylandii bits in a big pile lol
I rescued some logs to add to the log pile in the wildlife garden, but today the gardener took them away! So I collected some more from the bits that were left lol They were also some circle bits which I've turned into stepping stones in the wildlife garden, just need to leave a message for the gardener to leave them where they are!
I'll keep everyone updated, don't worry :-) We ordered a new shed yesterday which will be delivered on Friday, nearly bought a smaller store but fortunately those were out of stock and we ordered something bigger because I later realised I'd need somewhere to keep my new bike (that I haven't got yet)!
The amount of space at the back now though is pretty impressive, it's pretty flat there so could be a nice space to put up the agility kit for the AT (After Tai) dog with a bit of top soil to bury the tree stumps and either turf or woodchip for the floor.
Looking forward to getting the new shed, means a lot of the stuff lying around the house can be put down there!
Shed has now gone, but there is a delay in getting new shed now so will be a couple of weeks until that is delivered. But we're away next week anyway so it doesn't matter much I suppose. Some of the tree stumps have been dug out, tempting to plant the other trees down there in the ready-dug holes lol
New shed should be arriving today and hopefully that and the fence will be up tomorrow :-) Also pruned back the pyracantha and added two holly shrubs to fill in the gaps. We've decided to put trellis around the entire garden and the patio to give a bit more privacy and make the garden more secure, but that won't be until the new year. Trimming back pyracantha is a right pain!
Ouch..It's not called Fire Thorn without reason.

I noticed lol
Shed and fence are now just about done, gardener has even moved a couple of mini-conifers that were in the garden and levelled the ground at the back. Really pleased :-)
I hope you have been taking photographic records of the transformation
Unfortunately not because it is usually dark when I leave and dark when I come home! So I've not been able to take photies of the transformation :-(
You could show us a picture of how it looks now..?
Gonna be great for you next year.
I will see if I can get some photos taken tomorrow, getting new floor fitted in the living room so me and the dogs will have to spend the day in the garden lol Might actually get the last of the gardening done before the winter!
