Sorry to jump the gun with the mention of winter already....but as I'm not the greatest of gardeners, what is the best month/time to plant up Winter Pansies in Baskets/tubs Etc ?? and when do garden centres start to stock them??
Feed The Birds....not the cats!!!!
I know....my spelling's crap !!
Same here Doggie. They are such good value for money and thrive through whatever winter throws at us. I usually get mine when I remove the summer plants. I think violas do better than pansies.
Cheers, Linda.

Excellent, thanks for that Alan/Linda. I knew I could rely on you for help ;-))
I'll have a look round the local garden centres over the next couple of weeks.
Great stuff, thanks for that Lolly. I Hope you have a good showing ;-)

Cheers mate, i'll give it a go.
Hi Robbo
I agree that Violas do far better and last much longer than Pansies - I always find that Pansies stop flowering after a while. I got some great Violas last week off a local market stall.

Hello Big Robbo 27,
They should be stock by now, either online or in your garden centre/DIY store.

Thanks everybody, popped out this afternoon and came home with 5 boxes of Winter Pansies and 5 boxes of Violas. 10 plants to a box and cost me 20 quid for the lot..is that a Good price ??
Yes a good deal there BR but just one note of caution although they are called Winter Pansies in my opinion they just hold their own in winter but just a little bit of warm weather towards the end of winter is when you will get well rewarded.
