I decided it was time to lift a root of my potatoes and this is what I got from one root. I was pretty pleased by the crop, but I bet someone out there can put my crop to shame.
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.
Blimey Budge .... that's magnificent! Just need a juicy lamb chop, garden peas and mint sauce!! Oh .... and a knob of butter!
Cheers, Linda.

I am still waiting on my Red Roosters, will be a while yet, love my home grown veggies and fruit too :)
Well I'm impressed...seeing as I didn't get round to planting any this year and am now regretting it (I suppose it's too late to do it now isn't it ?). Those look delicious...I'm thinking some freshly crushed sea salt a knob of golden butter & a fork...that would suit me just fine.
I have some in a pot that should be ready, was going to get some out tomorrow but had other things going on. May try tonight as we're having braising steak, some new tatties would go nicely!

Budgie, your potatoes look delicious. I love the earthy taste of new tatties - can't beat it. What variety are they?
Bella, you may get off with planting a late crop. There are autumn varieties which purport to yield a Christmas crop. I did try last year and they were unsuccessful for me, but I think you live in a warmer area. It was quite funny, I forgot about them and they started to grow this spring in part of the plot where I had already planted out some artichokes this year. Much to my surprise the many of the tubers had not rotted over winter.
